Kiambi has a wide range of activities for guests who want to make the most out of their stay with us.

Game drives

Game drives at Kiambi take place in the national park, as the lodge is situated at a distance from the park gates.

When embarking on a game drive, guests are taken down into the Lower Zambezi National Park via boat, covering 65km of the scenic Lower Zambezi river.

Upon arrival into the park, guests will meet their designated guide in the game vehicle to begin their drive on the lookout for animals in the area.

The Lower Zambezi boasts a healthy number of animals, with frequent sightings of lions, leopards, buffalo and the many antelope species of Zambia.

Please note this is a full-day activity.

Game cruise by boat

Game cruise by boat takes guests on an animal sighting experience on the river, departing the lodge at 9am and returning to the lodge at 3pm.

This activity includes an option to have a packed lunch with different price structures supporting the same.

Sunset/ morning cruise

Our cruises take guests on a 1 hour 30 minute cruise on the river either in the early morning or at sunset, to enjoy the scenic view of the Lower Zambezi.

Birding

For our birding enthusiasts, we offer birding as an activity, where guests are taken via boat to spot the many species of birds in the Zambezi.

Guided by our own bird experts, this is an exciting activity to enjoy an immersive and educational birding experience.

Fishing

Kiambi offers full day and half day fishing excursions within in allocated areas within the Game Management Area.

Guests can try their hand at catching the unique species of fish in the Lower Zambezi such as the sought-after Tiger Fish or the African Pike.

Full day fishing trips can also be arranged into the park at an extra charge. The extra charges are covered directly by the clients as they have to pay their park entry as well as angling fees for the park.

Village walk/ Banana farm tour

Within the Chiawa area around the lodge, Kiambi offers our guests a more local experience with our village walk or banana farm tour where guests can immerse themselves in the local culture and meet residents of the Zambezi who live in the area.

Canoe safaris

A unique activity at Kiambi is our overnight canoe excursions, where guests can canoe along the river, camping on the way, for 1-3 nights.

Alternatively, we also offer shorter 3-hour excursions by canoe along the river.
